"Entries may only be submitted in the formats listed in the Format section, and must conform with the National Television System Committee or NTSC standards of 29.97 frames per second, and be no smaller than 480p and no larger than 720p, and may be no larger than 10 GB in size. The AMV Contest Coordinator reserves the right to change aspect ratios as needed for display purposes."

Can our videos be 23.976?

How about an MPEG-2 at 23.976 with the 3:2 pulldown flag?

How about people just follow the rules? It's not like they're suggestions where you can bargain your way down to something you want. :nono:

It's a valid question given:
720p is accepted.
720p has no NTSC standard for frame rate - NTSC does not cover HD material, ATSC does.

Actually it does some, NTSC would be 1080i30 or 720p60 and PAL would be 1080i25 or 720p50...although that may only apply to older HDTVs that kept the refresh rate based on location, but I'm not certain...

wiki wrote:ATSC also supports PAL frame rates and resolutions which are defined in ATSC A/63 standard.

It's JUST technicalities, most devices and TVs will accept frame rates on either standard ATSC A/53 or ATSC A/63. Of course ATSC Standard A/72 covers the frame rates of both...

ok well there is a method to my madness with why I want all the videos at the same frame rate
to make things easier at con everything is authored as a dvd and if a video is at a different frame rate, all the videos after that video on the disk are thrown out of sync.

Ask Vlad about 2005

I can easily change the frame rate, but it just adds time and an additional step to the process as the best way I have found to do that is load the video into premiere in a project set at 29.97 and re-export it.
