It isn't just one or two people, but a lot of creators got two videos in. I'm sure I'm in the minority in my opinion, but wouldn't it be better to allow more people to get in (unless their video broke a rule or was just downright unusable). Sure the audience might not think its the best, but there is a sense of reward in just seeing it on the big screen.
I mean I didn't think mine was that bad, so I guess I am a little surprised.

If we bump "better" videos to make room for a wider selection of editors, then yes, we might make a few editors happy, maybe 5 or even 10 people, but then I have to deal with hundreds upon hundreds of audience members whining about how bad the contest was. I'll get that anyways, it happens at every con, but I do what I can to dial it downIf you're making art for art's sake, then you can't complain if it doesn't get shown. If you're making something to entertain an audience, and the pre-screening team has determined that the audience would PROBABLY rather sit through something else, then you also can't complain because then you're basically saying "LOOK AT MY VIDEO, I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE IT, YOU'RE GONNA WATCH IT ANYWAYS" and I don't think that's the message that you want to send

Again, I can gear the contest towards the creators' interests and make 35 people happier, or I can gear it towards the audience's interests and make hundreds-to-thousands of people happier. I still treat every entry with the utmost respect in that I encode everything with care, fix technical problems (and BOY are there plenty!) and screen the overflow in the same room as the AMV contest (hell, this year we're doing it twice), but at the end of the day, the final contest is put together for the audience.

Your video, "Me, Myself, and Me" won its category (if I remember correctly).
It at least made runner-up because it was playing as I came into the AMV Award spotlight.
