Romance and Comedy were in high demand...so it was a 50/50 shot. Though I find it is better to note as to which category the judges might prefer... especially when there's a shortage and one's video could go one of several ways. However if it's strong in one aspect and lacking another (say more romantic than funny) then perhaps submitting it to the comedy even if they need videos wouldn't necessarily be the way to go because there's always a chance there will be videos funnier.
Yeah, I went with Romance because it's not funny enough to win comedy, but it was MORE comedy than Romance so I was worried it wouldn't get in. I also think the "romantic" part relied too heavily on someone having seen the show. While the production quality was there, the main problem is it was too experimental to fit in either category...I will say that the video was a side project I came up with while I was waiting on DVDs for footage for my next comedy AMV. Oh well, I'll have something more clear cut for a particular category next year. I was quite annoyed this year, however, that I never got a confirmation...
