Somehow, the 29.97 fps version and the 100 fps version got mixed up while I was renaming the files on the server for friendliness. I have begun uploading both files back onto the server with the correct file names. The will be at the following URLsssgwnbtd Posted: Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:07 am Post subject:

The SSGWNBTD-2997fps-eva.avi file you have linked is actually the 100 fps version heh...

and

That should be pretty self explanatory. These files are third and fourth in my ftp queue right now for fires I need to put out, and I would like to note that both were in well under deadline, in case there are any questions.
Godix has graciously volunteered to keep his goats video off the MEP...it is still in consideration for the contest portion, however, so you should still consider it when casting your votes.Fall_Child42 Posted: Tue Sep 06, 2005 10:42 am Post subject:

On the topic of teh buttsecks .... I'Nominate Godix's dennis leary video to be excluded from the MEP....
I am sorry if my initial instructions were ambiguous. Since you had audio playing in the section that had no video, and since I specified that the timer started with the first visible frame or audible sound, and ended with the last, and that lack of audio or video in between these two events was acceptable as part of the video clip, I must calculate the duration of your video based on the full duration of the clip, which I time at just under 9 seconds. It was impressive work, and I hope that I was not too vague. If anyone else felt confused on this point, please let me know and we may discuss an exception. If the matter was generally clear to all, however, I must regretfully leave the matter as is. I thank you for your participation.DrngdKreationz Posted: Tue Sep 06, 2005 9:11 am Post subject: Re: Contest rules clarification

The video must be 7.53 seconds. If you have a 30 second avi file, and there is precicely 7.53 seconds of actual video nestled between 22.47 seconds of black space, then you have met the intent of the rules...
Just because I am curious... There ARE only 7.53 seconds worth of video spread out through the overall AVI I honestly don't care but I thought I was playing by the rules.
I will download mplayer or vlc to review this clip. I suggest others follow derobert's advice. This video should be considered fully functional and a qualified participant in the contest.derobert Posted: Tue Sep 06, 2005 7:26 am Post subject:

Skylink-Techno7.avi plays fine here in both mplayer and vlc.
VIDEO: [dvsd] 720x480 24bpp 29.970 fps 28771.2 kbps (3512.1 kbyte/s)
AUDIO: 32000 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 1024.0 kbit/100.00% (ratio: 128000->128000)
DV video, uncompressed audio.
FINALLY, the server is back in business. If there is a signicant delay in uploading these final corrections, I will extend the deadline. As it stands, it is still midnight EDT US time on 7 Sept 2005. Please, if you are already casting votes, leave time to review these last couple of erroneously uploaded (by me) entries, out of fairness to all participants.
Thanks...
