Import Avi problem...

Postby manosteel » Sun Oct 25, 2009 2:45 am

Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem where I start my new project... then I go and attempt to import my anime that I want to slice and dice... and it is in .avi and it comes up with an error:
Error Messege
Unsupported format or damaged file

I dont believe the file / video is damaged... so I dont know what i should do... any suggestions? or anyway someone could point me in the right direction for figuring this out ?? Thanks.. i'm very excited to begin producing AMVs :)

Do you know what codec it's compressed to? Vegas usually won't work if it's DivX, Xvid, or x264.
And by the way, where did you get your footage from? Those codecs are likely to be used for encoding fansubs... :nono:

I honestly have no idea what codec they are. How can I check? and If they are something that wont work, how to i convert them to something that i can import to Premiere?
