Newbie. Questions :P

Postby ronyap » Tue Jun 23, 2009 4:24 pm

Hi all,

I am using Sony Vegas 8 and I just want to know how to add 'objects' to your amvs. Like for example, I want a few white horizontal lines fading from top to bottom with nice fading. I tried using cookie cutter, but I found two problems.

1) Cookie cutter doesnt let me fade
2) Does not give me freedom of what I want, eg a white line

Any help appreciated. Sorry for being a noob, only my second AMV!

1. Go to "generated media" (it's in the same area as you're video effects, etc. ) and grab a pure white media thingy (solid color)
2. put it on the time line over top of where you want it.
3. at the end of the generated media clip there will be a button that say something like "pan/crop" click that and a window should open up, at the bottom of the window there will be a timeline and part that says "mask" play around with that feature and you should be able to figure it out. play around with opacity, fades, keyframes and what not to make it do what you want.

Just play with it and you should be ok, it's not insanely complicated.

Also, I can only seem to move the Pan Crop picture left and right, not upwards

EDIT.... AHHH I hate the pan crop feature. I assume that the big F box if the frame yeh, but I dont understand it ! Is it even possible to get the white line to the TOP of the vid? I can only get it to go up a bit and then it disappears if I go anymore. I dont know what shape size Im supposed to use. I can get the shape of the line right, but not the position >.< AHHHH
