MAGIX deinterlace

Postby digifreak » Sat Sep 20, 2008 3:00 pm

I'm finished editing my first video in Magix 2.0. I saved my file as AVI with XVID, but the scenes that are sped up are interlaced. I tried saving it with a lossless and then deinterlacing and encoding it with XVID it in Vdub, but the file comes out too big. Does anyone have any suggestions? (My source footage is downloaded raws that are encoded with XVID. Yeah, I know I'm not supposed to use downloaded footage, but I couldn't get a hold of the DVDs as they are not available in the U.S.)

If the xvid compression in vdub is too big, it's probably because you didn't set properly the codec settings, or maybe you forgot to compress the audio.
Try to set the parameters as shown here and to compress your audio like this. ;)
If the interlacing still shows up anyway, it might be some setting of magix that interlaces video when you speed it up/slow it down... since I don't use magix I'm not sure about that, but it's a possibility.

Well, I did a one pass and it came up to 1.67 GB (the vid is 3:11 min long). I thought a 2-pass still wouldn't be small enough, but I guess I'll go ahead and try it anyway.

Sorry I got it confused with another one, it came up to 161 MB. Makes more sense now.
