(Another suggestive comment that should've gone in my last post.)

You could also do what I did and make the software pay for itself. I've done several freelance video editing jobs. I charged $35/hour and that's on the cheap end for this kind of thing.

Freelancing FTW.

haha, trust me...getting a job was the first thing that came to mind. But i have no time. Not only do i train for Cross Country and Wrestling but i also got to go to the gym every day too. Unless i could work for 2 hours at a place (which i highly doubt) there is no hope for a job. And what are freelance video editing jobs anyways? sound kinda interesting.

Where I started working actually did have me working about 2 hours each day. Any place almost has to if they hire you at 13 or 14, because of child labour laws.

My first job was 2 hours a day as well (video production at a local church), five days a week right after school.

Basically, you are your own business, and you sell your services to whatever client wants them. For example, for one of my early freelance jobs, I was hired by a local public school to film their 6th grade musical and then produce a DVD of it for the school to sell to the parents. Since it was one of my earliest ventures, I did the work for cheap and charged them $27/hour. 19 hours later I was $513 richer.

And don't be a bloody pirate; just find a cheap place to get the software. (Link courtesy of JaddziaDax.)

It says it's only the CD, has anyone confirmed that it includes a valid license? If it does, thats a pretty good deal. If it doesn't, thats an expensive coaster :P

You know, I actually thought about that the other day. I'll ask them eventually (when I get around to building a new computer). I'll get back to you then, unless Jaddzia can answer that question. :P

Sorry for the double post. I just wanted to say that BHPhotoVideo.com is a very reputable site, so I wouldn't really expect them to try and rip you off. But I do still have to question that deal a little bit in my mind. Like I said though, I plan on finding out.

It's legit. I have a copy of Vegas, purchased from BH Photo. It is registered with Sony and works just fine.

If you're uncertain, go to the Vegas forums on Sony's site and read some of the comments about this version of Vegas.
