All this bitrate stuff would be lost on both of us.
The source is a video game. He recorded the scenes onto his PC using some kind of device.
My editor is WMM.>_>; Don't give me that look.;-;
resolution, codec, container, and bitrate

Say he should rip them again, what should he choose for those?

Resolution: 640x480 (fairly standard for standard definition 4:3 source)
Codec: HUFFYUV, Lagarith, Uncompressed if he has the space, you shouldn't worry about bitrate with lossless. If he needs to compress, then DV, and the highest bitrate he can afford.

I go to "Run Script" and when I click on the AVS file I get the splendid message "Parse error."

SyberiaWinx wrote:I tried ripping the scenes from the disk, but only got a few. He could probably do it again technically, but that's asking a lot of him. He had to play through the entire game to get those scenes.
from there you would go to file, save, select codec (HuffYuv)JaddziaDax wrote:JaddziaDax wrote:open the video file in virtualdub mod go to video->compression->Huffyuv or Lagarith
then go to file->save
use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room

And right now, we're more worried about the bars. These AMVs are going to be for personal viewing and boochsack.^^; I don't plan on entering them in any contests.
SyberiaWinx wrote:Okay, I've got some video game footage, with black boxes at the top and bottom of the scene. Since the majority of the scenes are like this, we don't won't to risk removing them. Instead, we need help with the select scenes that DON'T have these boxes, and thus look to be a different size. We've tried shrinking the height of these scenes, but it's impossible to get it right. We need a free program that can do one of the following two things:
-Move the entire scene up, not increasing the height, so that it will match up with the other scenes.
-Will let you increase the height of the top or bottom of the scene, but not both at the same time. Think something like Adobe Photoshop, where you can hold down part of the pic when you resize it, to make sure that part does not change.
Can anyone help me out?
