Anyone know any good video editing systems and IMovie Q's

I've been using sony vegas movie studio 6 for at least 4 months now and ive been wanting masking so bad but its SO EXPENSIVE i mean the full version is 300 something bucks does anyoen know any cheap good editing systems ive heard of adobe after effects is $999 on amazon -Chokes- i heard of Magix dont know if its good but yea

I have Imovie unfortuanetly its only for MOV files only so do u think if i converted all my episodes into MOV using Winavi converter send it to a harddrive then bring the harddrive to the apple computer with Imovie will it work or is there an easier way

Magix is a perfectly legitimate editor. I mean... Koopiskeva (if you don't know who he is, you should, heh) edits using Magix. But Vegas 6 can be had for $99
