Can't Uninstall AMVapp!

Post by animegirl909 » Tue Jul 20, 2010 4:17 pm

I think this is the proper forum for this.

I downloaded the old version on accident, and I can't uninstall it. I've run it as an admin, I've pressed uninstall and gone through the process about 6 times, and each time I've restarted my computer.
HOWEVER, it's still there! In my start-up menu. I'm using Window's 7, so each time I turn on my computer the AMVapp is highlighted orange in my startup menu.
I tried to uninstall individual components, but AMVapp is still there. And the individual components are still there.

What did I do wrong?

 the AMV Virus Lives ????

System 7 doesn't always get the correct info while its installing.

Just Un-Install it once thru your control panel and then goto
the Folder where everything is kept. Erase it. go back to the
desk-top. erase that icon. pull-up the start tab; erase it from
there also. Shut-down your computer and restart it. All Gone.

You'll have to ask MicroSoft why its programs uninstall like a MAC!

Thank you so much! It's gone now.

But you said that "System 7 doesn't always get the correct info while its installing", so should I just not download AMVapp on it?
When I first installed AMVapp, none of the tests passed, even though I downloaded it exactly according to the guide. But I thought it was because I was using 2.1 version, not the 3.0 beta.

None of the tests from the older versions of the App pass on Vista or 7 because they used a specific old version of Windows Media Player, which was no longer included in Windows after XP.

The most recent version of the App, which you can get from HERE uses separate installers for each component, at least partially because of issues with maintaining a monolithic installer like the old version had.
