i saved it and now it says its not a valid movie maker file!

Then I'm afraid most likely Jaddzia is right here.. It really might be corrupt :|

Maybe try reinstalling WMM? (if that's possible o.O)

its a file type specifically for WMM i dont know of any other programs that would open it

so you can't open your project and just re-export as a DV_AVI or highest quality setting? and try and import that?

they cant open the project file itself...
not a .wmv they made from wmm

at least thats my understanding of the situation

Your file is probably 'kaput'. But you can try this

Try opening the MSWMM file with this utility and re save it, and see if it comes to life. Oh, and please make a backup of the original file before opening it in this program.

You should always make a backup of your projects. If you can, stop using Windows Media Player, it sucks. I always recommend everyone that. :roll:
