WMM Problem

Postby itachi-sama92 » Sat Apr 28, 2007 12:08 am

Whenever i try to import a wmv video into WMM there is an error saying that my file is not indexed and cannot be imported. At other times it says that my file cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.
What should i do? are there any other free softwares to make amvs?

That part about "don't use xvd" is the helpful part.

You shouldn't edit with compressed formats. Wmv, Mpg, Divx/Xvid - they're all compressed formats. They're buggy. Windows Movie Maker can't handle them consistently. Edit with uncompressed footage - huffyuv.

If you need help ripping your dvds or converting your footage, just ask. The main point is that you don't want to be using wmv in wmm.
