For help and discussion concerning the Windows Movie Maker software.

Postby JaddziaDax » Thu Jan 25, 2007 4:25 pm

Windows Movie Maker even though a pretty decent "free" piece of software, isnt a "bad" program per se' but it does have alot of bugs in it.... that cause alot of frustration for its users

I don't hate WMM >_>. Its just that it has lesser compatibility, lesser options, lesser scope, and poor working with lots of bugs and thats it ^^.

Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides has links to the amvapp which has virtualdubb.
It also tells you how to use it to encode

I'm sure every prog has it's quirks. It's not too bad if you learn how to work through 'em. Will try the V-dub and hopefully it'll work. Thanks. Let's see...

BTW: THe Forum's acting weird toward me now too - When I try to make a post, I keep getting " Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form. " What's that about?

yes, yes I did. because the same questions kept being asked. And they still are but at least most of the answers are documented and there is something for people to refer to when they have problems. Unlike when I had problems.

because some PPOL are LAZY to read the the sticky FAQ's. Just to make 'em post of their problem course they'll say I've already read the FAQ's above but my problem isn't there and then.... *KABOOM* it all goes repeating...... though anywayz I say is..... not only WMM got a problem that also a poster to in this thread. Well I know I'm off the topic just to let you know *all prog* is have a trouble too like what pinky said and I will not going to go far of this. ;)

This is why I hate googling for progs... There's a dozen different links here, how do I know which one it is? ;_;

They all go to places to download the program.
if you click my link it will take you to a guide on how to use it to encode your huffyuv's.
The guide also has a link to a suite of programs called the amvapp and virtualdub is included in it.
however the sourceforge links will take you too the most recent version of the program instead.

My what?!

::sigh:: I was hoping for a solution to why WMM won't accept my codec.

Waaaaaaaaah... Am I such an idiot? I went to the Guide link you gave me, I followed it to www.virtualdub.org, and didn't see anything downloadable there.

virtualdubmod is better
mpeg2 support
mkv support
ogg support
if you continue editing you'll probably need some of these features sometime, for something...somewhere...yeah

WMM stuffs up when you try to use Xvid/DIVX so the only way to fix it is to encode your clips using a different codec, that's why people are suggesting you use virtualdub/mod to encode your files as a huffyuv codec. Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides as Autraya suggested to find out how to do that.
There are many versions of the program that the replies above have given you links to. ^^
