Video that I'm trying to edit in WMP won't play

Post by juongyee » Wed Dec 20, 2006 10:33 pm

Windows media player only plays the video whenever I restart the program but then after i've played through the video it won't let me replay it again until i restart the program. then the same thing happens all over again.

Try VLC media player, since WMP kinda sucks.

Are you calling Windows Movie Maker "windows media player" by mistake? If you're having trouble importing video into Windows Movie Maker here's a short list of free programs that can convert videos into a format WMM will accept:

1. VLC (a bit tricky learning to use the conversion, look for a tutorial)

2. Flask MPEG

3. AV DVD Player Morpher

4. WinFF (by far, the easiest to use)

5. DVDx

All of these programs are freeware. Enjoy.

actually i meant windows movie maker. sorry.

it lets me import the video clips fine, (they're .mov files)

whenever i play through the clip the first time, it won't let me play it again. when i hit 'play' it says it's playing but it's not. WMM would only play the part where i forward it to the part where there's only the music and not where the clip is on the timeline.

i hope this is not confusing to you guys..

Eww, don't edit with .mov files. Edit with .avi files that are encoded with a lossless codec, like Lagarith or HuffYUV. Don't know if you can convert .mov files, though :/

it works now thanks

ps: there seems to be a problem with the music as well. whenever i try to play through a certain part of the music in wmm, it plays a different part of it. :?:
