right click on the avi file and choose "properties"

then choose the "summary" tab

and tell me what it says next to "Video Compression"
OK...

It doesn't say Video Compression - It has three headings with things under it - Image, Audio, and Video. Under Video it says:

Frame rate: 15frames/sec
Data rate: 37 kbps

JaddziaDax wrote:dont use DIVX or XVID files in your video editor... (they dont work well in ANY editor)

if anything get Virtualdub Mod and convert them to huffyuv, or another codec that is more compatable with your editor

but beware huffyuv makes large files... so you might want to clip them down to scenes, and remove the audio..

either way... good luck, and this is pointed out in the stickie at the top.
have you tried this solution yet?

you can get the programs you need in the AMVAPP

id recommend installing the app... (everything but FFDshowthingy, the one in the app is pretty buggy, and the Premeire plug ins, as youre not using premeire... you can easily uncheck them in the instalation process...)

Yes, I've posted that Vdub doesn't want to help me either.

And btw - I'm still getting this "Invalid session" message when I post. I just logged out and logged in again. It's getting harder and harder to post here...

Waaaaaaaaaaaah

Ok, I've dl'd GSpot. I've dl'd Combined Community Codec Pack, FFShow, DVD Decryptor, and Xvid. WMM still won't let me import my avis. Circuit City says I might have a virus and I should bring it in. What do I do next, please? I really wanna be able to amv again..............

Thanks for all your help so far, I'm glad you guys are so willing to try and help me out. I'll try anything if I can get it working again.

Would it help if I quoted the error message? Doesn't seem to say much. On the upside, there are a few amvs I can view now I wasn't able to before.
