WMM reading avs script rumour? (Scintilla .xml)

Post by dazza1008 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 5:25 am

Hi all,
I was browsing and came across an unusual post in "possessed" WMM forum topic
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=80923
Gepetto wrote:"Standard AVI files"? Sorry, but you failed to answer the question. "Created by AviSynth" has nothing to do with how they were encoded, unless you hacked WMM to accept AVS scripts directly (I think Scintilla made a .xml file for that). If you're using DivX or XviD (or God forbid, H.264 in AVI) then you need to re-encode them losslessly.
I'm running out of search terms for the forum (no results) - can someone please tell me if there is an xml file for WMM to read AVS scripts? (BTW I'm using WMM XP version)

That'd be so great - that means reverse video in WMM! (hopeful)

Thanks in advance!

Okay, so maybe I SHOULD have denied this when I actually saw it.

No, I have never done anything to get WMM to accept AVISynth scripts directly.

Gepetto was probably thinking of one of the following:

1) I've explained how to use makeAVIs to create fake AVI files as wrappers for AVISynth scripts, in order to get WMM to accept AVISynth scripts INdirectly; that's covered here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... m2/#source
(Please note that I wrote this before DGVFAPI came out, which may give better results than makeAVIs.)

2) I've made a custom WMV profile for saving full-resolution, maximum-quality WMV files out of WMM; you can find that here: http://www.aquilinestudios.org/VHQWMV2.prx
(To use it, save the file to your C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles\ directory; then it should show up under the "Other" category of export profiles when you try to save a movie file.)
