couple questions for adobe premiere pro v7.0

Postby pavankat » Sat Jun 13, 2009 9:04 pm

I'm using Adobe Premiere v7.0. I have the video and audio in place.

With the help of mirkosp I was able to figure out how to adjust the volume of the video and audio (clip --> audio options --> audio gain).

question 1: I put some text in the video that goes over the video 10 seconds into the video.

How do I fade the first title into the video and then fade it out?

question 2: I learned how to increase and decrease the db of the audio and video, but how do I increase the audio for a certain part of the song only?

Thanks so much in advance. I don't know what I'd do without this forum.

For both things, you'll want to use keyframes.
1) In this case you'll want to have the Opacity of the clip set to 0 with a keyframe in the beginning, then have another keyframe with 100 when the title should be fully shown, a third keyframe of 100 right before when the title should start fading out and a fourth keyframe of 0 when the fade out should stop. You can set keyframes by clicking on the rhombus symbol besides the name of the property and just change the property over there. If the rhombus doesn't show, then you'll have to enable keyframes, which you can do by clicking on the stopwatch (the clock-like symbol besides the property's name).
2) Pretty much like case one, only that you'll have to keyframe the dB instead of the opacity.

Hopefully I was able to explain it well.

Hey thanks so much. I can't find the rhombus, so I'm trying to find the stop watch right now.
