big problems with bad frames

Postby speeder » Sun Oct 12, 2008 10:25 am

I have a big problem with my premiere..every time i edit in timeline -trim or add some motion effects i get some bad frames ...it's like 10 frames are forward and 2 are rewind(i can see the frames in both render and the exported video)..lost 2 nights because of this T.T & got no results ...got 2 days to finish the AMV for a competition and i think i'l pass if i don't get the resolve of my problem.

btw - even if i do delete the bad frame/s they reapear in a later sequence of the AMV and so on..

ty,
speeder!

I don't think premiere even accepts mkv files does it?

importd with avs
LoadPlugin("C:\pathway\DirectShowSource.dll")
DirectShowSource("D:\pathway\honey_and_clover_01[h264.vorbis][niizk].mkv")
KillAudio()

x.264 isn't any better to edit with (in fact, it's worse)

but if you absolutely can't make lossless clips, try ffmpegsource() instead of directshow source

I recommend to convert all the sources you need into a lossless codec like HuffYUV or Lagarith. It takes diskspace, but you really gain smooth editing (because it needs less ressources) and way less problems.

You checked the guides, right? A look at it is always good :)

I did that. Ended up with 3 gb files and over 20 gb taken space in the end. Quality stayed the same as the mkv but in premiere, not all the episodes were there. Only the Opening and another half a minute or max a minute extra. Other than that no. So i continued using avs files straight instead of converted lagarith files from vdub.

and that's why you should make clips instead of converting entire episodes (time is short, do a forum search for making clips with virtualdubmod if you don't know how)

basic rule of quality: the output quality is only as good as the input quality

and if you try to edit mkv by putting it into an avs script you're liable to experience the problem noted at the beginning of this thread

bottom line: dvd footage >> downloaded footage and lossless clips ftw

I know :) I only have been dld-ing dvdz, HD or Bluray for the past months and using mkvs with huge rez and best quality. I know how to make clips in vdub but i also tried making that the other day (a small scene of about 5 seconds) and only 2 seconds appeared. I dunno, maybe my programs are screwed.. I need to format anyway at the way things are going with my pc. And also, I haven't had the same problem as Speeder. I was just replying to Bauzi-sama ^^

planning out your video more can help too, also setting up job control and letting it run while you sleep can take away from the boredom of watching it convert O.o
