Another question <.<

Discussion and help related to Adobe video software goes here. e.x. Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.

I have one more question and then I promise to shut up for a while.

I see a lot of AMV's with this effect and I'm not sure how to do it in Adobe. Basically you have a scene playing with another playing behind/over it but one of them is almost see through, if you know what I mean. I'd imagine it had to do with tinkering of the opacity on one of the video clips but how do you even get the video clips to play over each other?

Let's see what I can do.

For the zoom into a specific point. If you are using Premiere 1.0 and up you should be able to select the clip you want zoomed. Go to effect Controls for that clip and you should see Motion at the top with a square with marks on the edges next to it. Clicking that box will put a crosshairs and those little resize points on the corners of the clip in the preview. Set a position keyframe.

Now scrub to the point you want the zoom to end. Grab the cosshairs and move the clip so that the part you want zoomed is in the center of the preview window. NOT centered with the crosshairs. This will set another keyframe. Then twirl down the Motion tab and place a Scale keyframe at the start. Then scrub to where you want to end the zoom, and increase the Scale percentage to how much you want. And that should do it.

Not sure about the music skipping or the strobe effect. Sorry

But if you have to make a new project because one fudged up, there is a solution aside from just starting over.

Open a new project and set it up as desired. Then import the ORIGINAL project into the new one. Toss the sequence into your current one and presto. You have your video back.

Nested sequences are your friends.

Hope that helps some.

Well, what I meant was something like this:

At about 1.46 the video pans around and then zooms and unzooms into one area. I find those effects kinda neat. I'm a total newb to Adobe and while I've read the help thing on keyframes they still... confuse the hell out of me. I kind of need things spelled out unfortunately.

Unfortunately the video is no longer available so I cannot see it. However, I uploaded a portion of a video I'm working on right now that might have the effect you are looking for.

At the very end. If it is, I'll make a video showing how to do this (been meaning to do some Premiere Tutorials)

I don't see the effect. In the video I was trying to show you, the person in it is pretty still in that scene and the video sorta pans around them and then zooms in to one area. I don't know how to explain it any better :(

Moving in 3D space?

What was the video? Maybe I can find it somewhere else because I really need to see what you are explaining.

No, not in 3D, just moving around the picture. Like up and down and side to side.

It was a video tribute to Stein from Soul Eater put to Getting Away With Murder.
