Most Stable Version

Postby ShaunKsu » Fri Jan 04, 2008 4:25 am

Hey guys. I'm finally fed up of Premiere crashing all the time and i want to know which of them is the most stable. I'm using 6.5 I've tried changing the Maxmemory settings, importing the music as a .wav instead of mp3. plus countless others. yet it still craps out usually with in 10 minutes of firing it up. i don't think my comp is the problem.

E6750
3Gig DDR2
700Gb HDD space
8600GTS

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys

I'd go back down to 6.0.

Be aware, Premiere has never been stable for me, but I love it just the same. It doesn't usually crash without me doing something else first to cause it. Pro is just lame, and just as unstable.

I've always found them all to be equally unstable.

Well: Deal with it. Seriously. It´s what every Premiere user has to.

Render out "Uncompressed"
Render out smaller pieces (for example: 30 seconds)
Fit the pieces together in the end with a simpel Avisynth script:
Code: Select all
AviSource("Part1.avi")+AviSource("Part2.avi")+...AviSource("Partx.avi")

they're all pretty unstable, but i actually like CS3, it doesn't crash on me like my other premiere did

I've always been using 6.5 and it works fine... Then again my projects might not be that compicated, I don't know... I usually work with only one script (I combine whatever clips I have into one avs).

What they said. It's a wonder to me that Adobe can work on Premiere (And AfterFX I guess) for so many years, and still not have a stable application. And yet we all still use it :) Until recent versions you basically never even wanted to attempt using any compressed video or audio, because chances are it would crash randomly.

Ironically enough Photoshop and Illustrator have always been very stable for me ... it's only their video-related applications that have issues.
