Need help with Premiere Elements

Postby DragonNinjaYuffie » Wed Nov 07, 2007 4:05 pm

I have a serious problem with the video I'm making. Whenever I try to render more than one clip at a time, it either says 'out of memory' or 'unknown error'. When I tried to save what I had done so far, It started rendering and then said 'unknown error' again.

How can I fix this?

what codec is your footage encoded with?
if you don't know, get gspot (click the pic in my sig)

how much ram do you have?
don't know? get cpuz and look in the memory tab

how large is your hard drive, and how much free space do you have?

The footage in encoded in Huffyuv. The hard drive has 80.2 GB left and can hold 385GB. I'm not sure how much RAM we have.

There is your problem. Premiere Elements doesn't really like Huffy footage -- it tends to index them wrong, leading to a lot of problems trying to read it.

You'll have to re-render your sources using Lagarith Lossless Codec to get them to work right and in high quality. None of the versions of Premiere Elements have any issues with Lagarith-encoded footage.
