agreed, but i do think that there are some instances when real-time preview SHOULD be viable. I mean, there have been times where I've only had JUST clips on the timeline. No effects, no motion, nothing, and it STILL has to go through and render at less than real-time. Even if there was simple motion or many layers, I still think it could be able to do a decent enough real-time preview similarly to how Premiere does it (basically skips frames it cant handle). Of course I understand the drawback to this, but it would still makes things far easier for me when all I need to do is just hit Enter and hear my audio and some resemblance of my video.
