Addressing the issue of loading lots of scripts...

Postby Pwolf » Sun Sep 09, 2007 4:21 am

Ive seen this issue come up a few times but i dont remember if there was ever a real fix for this? Not sure what i'm talking about.

If you load a lot of aisynth scripts premiere will basically crash or the scripts wont work. and by a lot i mean 20+

Anyone have an input on how to get around this problem other then doing the huffyuv clip method of editing?

Use Premiere Pro?

Also use SetMemoryMax() to limit the memory each script is allowed to use.

I dunno, I've been doing both of the above for four years and it's always worked fine for me.

Yep, definately use setmemorymax(64) or some similar value.

About a week ago I forgot to use it, and only had 5 episodes loaded into Premiere Pro. It didn't take long before it had eaten up over 3gb of RAM and was throwing up low memory errors :p

Well I would recommend going larger than that, especially if you are doing any kind of complex filters on it. Avisynth will always take as much memory as it needs, regardless of what value you use there, but using too small values will probably cause it to operate more slowly, I would suspect.
