So, over this weekend, I had a massive computer failure, as many of you are aware. I ended up buying a new shuttle barebones system with an Intel PIV 3.2Ghz, 2GB DDR2 RAMM, and an Nvidia Geforce 7100 GS graphics card. So far, the computer is definitely flying.
For whatever reason, initially, my drive rejected my old '01 release of XP. However, I am (or more correctly, SBS is) a Microsoft Partner. I had been sent a version of Vista Ultimate OEM to beta test (this version is a bit different than what is commercially available, it has a lot of the things we consider bad removed due to its intended use on business, and low-load machines, like DRM, and has a very light weight at about 650MB).
I failed to install and run every version of Premiere I installed. I installed 5.1, 6.0, 6.5 and Pro 2.0. I have been told that Premiere Pro 1.5 is supposedly compatible with Vista, and Adobe itself claims both CS3 and Elements 3.0 are supported. So I am wondering, has anyone else been able to run any of the versions I own legally on any version of Vista (I understand that since I am running a beta OS that probably is a few months from being released to computer builders, I may not be getting an accurate picture of the compatability), since I'd really, really rather not fork out for CS3 or downgrade to Elements 3.0 when the computing world forces me onto Vista.
In the mean time, I have returned to a nice, sleek, barebones version of XP Pro.
