After Effects is a program used pretty much entirely for effects. It's possible to edit entire videos in it as you would Premiere or Vegas, but not recommended. I can't comment on version 4.1, but I can tell you that that is very much outdated at this point, as AE is on - what? Version 7 now? As for it helping you to create M@Ds...:? That depends entirely on you, not the program you edit with.

^__^ .. yeah, I know its 1999 Win98SE/ME/Win2k/XP compliant soo that's good ^_^

What I am looking for is an Editor/Animator that is not time/frame dependent and the guys at MicroComputers said "give this a try" because if this is not what your looking for then you have only lost twenty-buck's instead of $400.00-$1,600.00

The program I wish I still had was "CoSA's After Effect's 1.0" ... now THAT was an Editor 8-)

Lol, after effects 4.1 is reaaally old, and there have been lots of huge changes to after effects since then. That said, you've still got yourself an AWESOME piece of software for only $20 bucks. It should be quite capable of doing 2d motion graphics and some decent effects.
