Premiere Pro export larger than 2GB

Postby vemalas » Wed Apr 11, 2007 4:43 pm

Hey, i have a question once more. I want to export my vid with Xvid cuz i wouldnt need to use vdub. But it freezes. Oh well, whatever. Then i try huffjuv, or Mircrosoft DV AVI. The file becomes like 3GB. And vdub just doesint convert it to xvid cuz of 2gb video file limit (i READ it somewhere here like year ago.. cant find on search). What should i do? ty for help.

*Opens a 2.17 GB .M2V file in VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 and scans all the way to the end (on keyframes only, of course) with no problem whatsoever.*

What error message do you get when you try to convert the big HuffYUV file in VirtualDub(/Mod)?

Ok so it works somehow now.. But this time i have 20gb huffjuv file. I import it in vdub and export with XviD. The clip is like 10sec's cut at the beginnig, and the sound doesint match, its late for 6secs~. I look at the huffjuv file and i think its the same as that XviD, so that means that it isn't vdub's fault. The huffjuv exported from ppro has that -10secs at begining and sound that doesint match. And effects are missing. Sorry, i do know its a bit offtopic, but i dont want to create one more. Any suggestions? I would be glad if you could say some free codecs to export already compressed file from ppro directly. ty.

Damn i'm so pissed off, CAN'T ANYTHING GO SMOOTH? :((

Check out your Work Area Bar in Premiere if it is at the right place in the sequence. Maybe you did something wrong and cutted something off with the export.

Hey if Huffy doesn´t work... Try Lagarith.

And effects are missing.

Ok that´s strange.

Damn i'm so pissed off, CAN'T ANYTHING GO SMOOTH?

"Thank you. You´ve sucessfully installed Windows!"

Come on ;) That´s the sort of problems everybody has to deal with. So don´t lose your head.

Hm, this leads to another question that I am. When you export using Premiere Pro it's not unusual to have a 20 GB file and you're expected to fix it somehow using VDubMod?

That depends on export settings, video length, and resolution. If you're experiencing problems try exporting uncompressed and see what happens then.

Ok, when i export with lagarith, the file is a LOT smaller, 14gb^^ thats good. And now all transitions and effects actually are there in my vid. The problem of the sound that dont match the vid (is late) is still there. Yes, the slider is at the beggining of the all amv. I have a very concrete question - can the Title be a problem? I mean, i created all amv, then zoomed out, checked all it, and slided a bit to left. Then i did the title, and it was a bit too small so i streched it to the begining of amv. Maby this could be the problem of sound that doesint match the vid? I need just delete the title?

As long as you don´t stretch the whole amv (audio + video) everything should be allright.

Do you use mp3 in Premiere?
Yes: Get your self Audacity and convert the mp3 into wav and use it in Premiere
No: Export only the audio stream and add it per "hand" into the VirtualDubMod Streamlist (don´t forget to compress the audio in VDM too!).

Yeah Lagarith makes smaller filesizes and is still looseless, but it needs better hardware.

can the Title be a problem?

I doubt it.

Sorry, they don't exist.

If the audio is late, you can adjust it when muxing or edit it in Audacity to compensate for the lateness (assuming it has silence in the beginning and for some reason it's getting bigger than it should. That has happened to me before).

OK. sound in vid exported with lagarith now is in tact. (yes sound was mp3, but i just deleted title, all sound transfered on the first sound bar, and it.. works. For stupid error's - stupid solution). BUT WHAT THE HELL WITH VDUB. Now i choose the compression XviD MPEG-4 (like always). And at aprox 60%~ vdub crashes. The "Send or dont send" error message appears. I cant post now the details cuz my dorky stupid brother closed that error message, and i couldnt see whats wrong (HATE HIM). I have that file in my pc and when i want to open it with MediaPlayerClassic, it writes.

Warning, could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not hav the needed codecs or filters on your computer <-BULLSHIT

So yeah one last question. If you do get a 20 gig file export from Premiere, how can you put it down to less than 100 MB? Also, what export settings do you guys use for Premiere Pro?

Start here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... intro.html

The basic idea is that you postprocess the video with AVISynth to make it as compressible as possible (optional but highly recommended), then compress with your favorite distribution codec (be it MPEG-1 via TMPGEnc, XviD via VirtualDubMod, x264 via whatever's out there for it...).

And, of course, don't forget to compress your audio.
