I got the new version of AMVApp so I uninstalled and then installed the new version....and now most of my video files I exported from virtualdubmod look like this:

Do you ever read the warnings when you install stuff? Like the one in the AMVapp that specifically says not to install it while you're in the middle of a project?

why should it screw up avi files that I've already encoded and finished with? even if I restarted and made a new Premiere Pro file, the clips still show up like that...but I guess that's the problem...ah well...

It's not screwing up the files, it's screwing up how (at the very least) premiere decodes them.
