No, I purposely didn't reinstall that with all the other codecs because it seemed to be making things run funny (crashing my windows media player and such).

I'm wondering if I have an AVI codec still installed on here that's causing problems for some reason. Because at one point in time I WAS able to import AVI clips. Is there any way for me to see a list of installed video or audio codecs on my computer other than the add/remove programs list?

What format are the clips encoded in? You need to have the codecs on your computer and the files need to be in the correct one for anything to work...

The clips were in AVI to start with. I brought them into VirtualDubMod, and converted them to HuffyUV. That's where I'm stuck.

And because I forgot to mention this before:

Right-click on My Computer --> Properties --> Hardware tab --> Device Manager --> Sound, video[,] and game controllers --> Video Codecs --> Properties tab.

lol, that annoys me too.

GSpot says the original clips were in DivX 5.2.1

As for the codecs currently installed on my computer, this is what I have:
  • XviD (dunno the version)
    Lagarith lossless 1.3.11
    HuffyUV 2.2.0
    DivX 6.5.1

That could be the problem. Try uninstalling and rolling back to version 2.1.1, found here.

Last I'd heard, HuffYUV 2.2.0 was known to be buggy.

Good idea. Unfortunately, didn't work. :?

I think I'm going to try a different editor, see if that might be the problem.
