AE 7.0 problem collection thread

Post by BauziOLD » Mon Jan 08, 2007 3:48 pm

Well now I have only one problem, but I guess that there will come up a lot more.

So here is my poblem:
AE doesn´t play my audio

The audio is wav and I can hear audio in AE when I open any kind of preview, but when I hit the play button for preview than there is no audio. But why? And how could I fix it? A friend of mine also hasn´t AE for long and he has the same problem. Maybe we forget something =/
Next to the play-button is of course the "audio-off"-button, but there isn´t the problem at all.

Thx for help and for future help ^^

IIRC, AE doesn't scrub the audio like premiere would.
It completely ignores it unless you do a "ram preview"

Ok I know that I shouldn´t completly edit in AE, but please explain me how it works, so I can set at least keyframes for work.

if you press 0 on your numpad it will preview 5 seconds of audio if you hold ctrl and click on your timeline it will preview 1 second I think and if you hold ctrl and scrub you can scrub like premierer would.

I working on a project with a lot of segments in AE 7.0 right now and the best thing i could come up with is to put the audio file in Premiere and mark off the points you're syncing to on the timeline. Next, record those times in notepad, make the necessary subtractions, and synch entirely by the numbers.

You may be able to render and work with those 5 frames for your project, but my new system can't even handle it, so I resorted to this method. It still has to be faster than a RAM preview though.

:? I think it would be a good idea, if you could export the keyframes and import theire positions on the same fps rated timeline. It would be a nice funciton.

I try Nio´s method tonight. I´m currently at school and there is Premiere but no AE at all ^^. Thx

Right now I have it.
If I won´t to play a audio preview without waiting time (I think it doesn´t take a second), that I have to press " , " on the numpad. OK I guess it is a different key on a different board. So just say the little key under the "3" of the numpad.

Works good and fine.

Can I cut clips and compositions or only trim them?

Is it worth to direct import anime with avs-scripts (just say normal DVD rips) or is it a rampage and therefor is the Lagarith-clip-mehode recommended?

If by cut you mean equivalent of razor tool (ctrl k) in Premiere, than in AE its called split layer. You can either edit/split layer or "ctrl shift d"

Makes scence with the split layer. Right... Also the ctrl+k is quite usefull because it spares time.

Thank you
