Sometimes mp3s can cause the sync to be off if used in video editors.
I had that problem with a VBR mp3 before im not sure if it can happen with regular ones too.

MP3 audio also takes more CPU power to decode while editing.

a polar bear will devour your soul.

Seriously, most editors will use wav wether you give them a wav file or not. But if you feed them an mp3 file, they'll buffer iit into a temporary wav and that eats up RAM and CPU usage. So you're better off just using wav.

You can transcode to .wav with besweet for editing purposes and then mux the mp3 to the finished video file when you're done.

Only if your video and audio are exactly the same length; this precludes any bumpers or credits.

You can just set the offset in VDubMod if you have bumpers.

assuming you don't want BGM on your credits.
