Well, i am starting to make some AMV with hd quality. I have done a few videos on Warcraft.

The problem is Sony vegas pro/ platinum can NOT run .avi file ( hd264) . I already have had every codes required but it just doesnt work -_-.

Any recommendations for program that i need to use to edit ( HD ) or at least good quality ?

i got a big potential to do this but i need a little help from pro.

Thanks-

Encode into lossless avis (lagarith codec is the best for Vegas, generally).

And this should go into some technical forums, remember it the next time, please ^^

Note: lossless codecs WEIGHT A WHOLE LOT. We're talking like 11GBs per 720p episode in lagarith, and that is one of the smaller lossless codecs. Be sure to make some space or edit by just encoding clips of the scenes you need and nothing else.
Note2: I'm reading warcraft, so I pre-emptively tell you that it's likely going to weight more than anime, even, and also, it doesn't count as anime for org catalog purposes.

HD AVC in AVI that looks good also weighs a whole lot due to no bframes (oh gods tell me he didn't use the avi bframes hack.)

What mirko said for the most part though. Encode lossless clips of the footage you need after picking it out. If you have the HDD space though, feel free to dump all your stuff to lagarith and watch that space disappear.
