The Fake AVI

Postby Mysterious Pharaoh » Sat Oct 03, 2009 2:41 pm

My problem is i want to creat a fake AVI from an avs to import it into Sony Vegas, and when i click on mount or quick mount nothing happened.
I put ConvertToRGB32() at the end of my avs script but it did nothing. I have AviSynth Virtual File System too.
Is there anything else i need? Does anyone know how to let quick mount work?
I'll be thankful for your help.

Fake AVI dude. Read the guides.

As for an actual reply to op, I'm not sure what the issue would be since I haven't dealt with AVFS myself, but considering that from the look of it you don't get any file mounted, my guess is that it's a problem with pismo file mount rather than with avfs. Maybe try reinstalling PFM.

Also, you could use a newer version of Pismo. The one in the AMVapp is 050, the one on the site is now 053.

I still use makeAVIS :amv:

as to the problem, does the .avs file open properly in virtualdub? If it does, there's [probably] nothing wrong with the script, but in case it has something to do with colorspace, try converttorgb24(), converttoyv12() as well.

When you choose Mount, the dialog will launch (if the dialog does not launch, reinstall Pismo).

Set the Mount visibility to 'Entire System' and choose a drive letter, set the read access from None to Read Only, and set the access mode from auto to AVFS. Maybe some of this is superfluous, but I was correctly able to mount scripts this way.

What will happen is that the .avs will be shown to you as both a new drive and a new folder that you can browse. Navigate in and select the .avi file - not the .avs - inside the folder/drive. That should be it.

One benefit I did find was that it seemed to solve the problem of mencoder crashing on exit with ffdshow decoding XviD AVI files with AVISource. I haven't done any deep testing to know whether it was truly resolved or whether that was even an issue anymore anyway, but that little bit makes it seem very promising.

Ok, thank you all for your replays.
The way of quick mount didn't work with me, but Phantasmagoriat mentioned MakeAVIS, i didn't know this software before, but now i downloaded it and it helped me to make the fake avi.

Thanks you all again.
