AMV newbie needs serious help here...

Postby goddess-under-fire » Sat Jul 04, 2009 11:52 am

Hi, guys. Listen, I need this explained to me like I'm a computer illiterate n00b.

I am dying to make some AMV's from Final Fantasy XII footage. All the research I've done about how to rip footage has left my brain about the consistency of strained carrots, so do me a huge favor and walk me through it, very, very slowly? As in, do i need to put my FFXII game disc into my computer and download some sort of ripping software? I am completely, ashamedly, heartbrokenly confused.

I'm in the same boat as goddess-under-fire, only the games are FFX and X-2. I've tried using FFX2mov, but when it says it's done extracting, I'm left confused. Extracted to where? Where did it go?

This is just a question about FFX2mov, not Castor's guide. I tried that and am awaiting an answer to that question. Whichever's the easiest, I guess.

Thank you for your help.

Great. I tried ripping from FFX-2 while waiting for a response for the FFX question, and the DVD Decrypter is unable to decrypt it. I even got a little voice that said, "Oh, no!"

Does it continue to retry over and over?

I got "ripIt4me" and it works just fine.

It goes along with Dvd Decrypter

I have...much the same problem, and its even with FFXII. I managed to get the 40 FMVs ripped off the disc just fine. It separated into audio/video files. The audio files won't play though. :-/ Any ideas on that one?

The other thing I'm trying to do is get the cutscenes...the in game scenes that aren't necessarily the very pretty scenes. I've just about become convinced that I'm going to have to get a video capture card and hook my PS2 up to the darn computer...but I've no idea if

1. This is possible. Just play through the entire game again, saving what I need to my computer?

and

2. If it is possible...where do I start? Is there a particular card I should buy? Or should I be doing something different.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :-D
