Zarx264gui.exe Crashing...?

Postby -Frozen|Denial- » Sat Mar 28, 2009 10:01 am

Hey there,

A couple weeks ago my Zarx264gui worked fine, but today I opened it to encode an uncompressed .avi file into x264.mp4 and 5 seconds into the encode it crashed and gave me that ugly "such-and-such-a-program has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience" window. I tried altering the settings such as the audio bitrate, turning on/off the "insane settings", and even using a different version of the Zarx264gui. If anyone can help, I'm willing to send screencaps, file data, etc.

Thank you,
~Alice

First off, make sure you are using the latest version at http://zarxrax.kicks-ass.net

Then, what operating system and language setting are you using? Have you modified the settings from the defaults? Does your uncompressed video work fine if you play it in virtualdub?

Finally, go to the advanced tab, click "create bat" to save a batch file. Press WindowsKey+R, type cmd, press enter. This will open up a command prompt. Drag and drop the .bat file in here and press enter. If it doesn't work, it should give you a better error message.

I was already running this version, but I suppose it got corrupted or something because I re-downloaded it and it works now.
Thank you anyway
