Riplocks?

Postby Hareoic » Sat Feb 28, 2009 10:23 pm

So I've noticed that DVD Decrypter is suddenly ripping much slower than it was a few days ago (I have no idea why, really) and when I searched for answers, there was a lot of mention about 'riplocks' being in place on newer DVD drives. It sounds like it MIGHT be related to what's happening now, but I can't make sense out of any of the solutions provided. I can't even verify if my drive (Philips DVD8801 DVD+-RW) has a riplock on it in the first place. I know this is a pretty stupid question, but can somebody please walk me through the process for disabling the riplock on this particular drive?
