I wish I looked at this thread. cause I just happened to get all of CS4 and I tried importing a avs file of claymore episode 1 into premiere cs4 and it wouldnt open, so hopefully this new updated plugin exe will work? and question, does anybody famaliar with trying to export your video in premiere. I tried testing in exporting a video as a huffy out of premiere cs4 and it was opening up this adobe encoder program and it doesnt let me change how the video looks and after i exported it it wouldnt play the video. So i dont really know what is going on. I am so not famaliar with premiere cs4...its like learning a whole new program since the premiere i have been using was the premiere 6.0....which is soo ancient.....and i want to learn premire CS4 if i can get the avs files to be able to open up in CS4.

Best way to export out of Premiere is uncompressed.

Huffyuv is not uncompressed. It's a lossless compression, but it does cut down the filesize by a fair bit. Uncompressed means when you export it with no codec at all, which means selecting 'None' for the codec, the very last choice in the drop-down menu.

HuffYUV files are really not meant to be played back. If you can open the video in, say, VirtualDub(/Mod) and seek through the video and see it look okay there, then you're good.

I'll also add to this that the haali splitter doesn't really handle well huffyuv/lagarith playback for god knows which reason. <.<
But yes, just like Scintilla said, it's not like they're meant for playback to begin with.

Both
http://valion.net/csavs/
and
http://urchin.earth.li/~tomford/avisynth/index.html
plug-ins fails to open video if the path contains non-ASCII characters (cyrillic, for example). Any ideas how to fix it?

PS: Media Player Classic opens the same .avs'es without any problem.

Non-ASCII characters are REALLY hit or miss in avisynth. I'm not sure about cirillic, but I know for a fact that kanji and kana are lost causes. They would fail in dgindex too, for example. Just rename the file and you'll be good.

i wanted to try it out importing avs works, but now exporting isn't working for me it keeps saying that source files don't exist huh?
Source File: D:\DOCUME~1\Misiek\USTAWI~1\Temp\res.prproj
- Output File: I:\mep\Sequence 02.avi
- Preset Used: Custom
- Video:
- Audio:
- Bitrate:
- Encoding Time: 24:58:26
2010-02-24 19:42:46 : Encoding Failed
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.

Checked temp and indeed it isn't here.
maybe issue with names? but how to change temp folder or displaying that stuff?

Okay i'm blind. D: There is pprj in temp it seems that it can't handle long names for me, even thought it displays it normally in most programs >_> (winxp btw) tho when creating one with the same name (DOCUME~1) it says that folder exist. >_>"
