Hellsing OVA 2 DVD

Postby -Reda- » Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:51 am

Anyone else having problems getting your Hellsing Ultimate 2 DVDs to rip properly? I've tried 2 separate copies of this, one which I bought, the other which I rented from Netflix and tried to rip from there. Both of them seem to have problems with one of the files on the DVD. I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem or could let me know what the problem could possibly be?

Also, just thought I'd add a couple things, sorry for the double post ^^;
-I'm using DVD decrypter

I've tried both DVDs in three seperate rippers (two if you don't consider DVD decrypter to be a ripper), one being Fairuse Wizard 2, the other being Magic DVD ripper(other one of course being DVD decrypter).

I hope thats kind of enough information for someone to figure out some kind of solution, or share one with me if they've encountered a similar problem with their Hellsing Ultimate 2 DVDs.
[Its a .vob file that it locks up on.]

There is this thread that talks about the same DVD:

I normally use SmartRipper. It may or may not be able to do it because it's not been updated in years, but it has shown the ability to handle some sets of new, crippled DVDs that other, newer rippers needed updates to handle (Blade-House of Chthon, apparently - link to doom9 discussion).

Good News=It ripped.

Bad News=OMFG

Other errors include:
mb addr inc error
motion code error
mb type error
cbp error

Those all seem to switch between each other about 3 times a second during playback. I've ripped this twice, once successfully with DVD decrypter, and the second time with that RipIt4Me software that was recommended in the last post about this very same DVD. Both have the same results.

Any more suggestions with this wonderful DVD?

I'd definitely look at SmartRipper. You could also try DVDFab HD Decrypter (the free version, that is) as well.

DVDFab HD Decrypter crashed and burned pretty quickly, Smartripper tells me a couple things...
First thing being "no ASPI-Adapter available"
Second thing being "List index out of bounds (2)"

The new Beta for DVDFAB platinum they have on their site did the job flawlessly! So happy! Thanks a bunch Qyot27!
