you already have a media splitter for avi files, but you don't have a media splitter for .mkv, .mp4 and .ogg

having multiple media splitters trying to split the same video can cause problems
5 more to go

I don't know exactly what re-registering filters does...but I have found it to solve problems in the past...you're probably better off waiting for someone else to explain it

Hmm thanks a lot dude, seriously. I still have no real idea what the problem is, but I'm on MSN with th smartest tech friend I have >.>

He read through this thread and said that the problem probably stemmed from me not rebooting my computer after uninstalling K-Lite, and that windows didn't recognize that I removed the codecs before I installed AMVapps and CCCP.

Also, as for the fullscreen problem (and also the video dissapearing when I minimized windows) he said that it was to do with settings in MPC.

So I'm about to uninstall AMVapps and CCCP, reboot and then reinstall them, which hopefully will solve the problem.

If not, and no one else knows what to do, I guess I'll be left with no option but to format my computer (which I really don't want to do)

Thanks for all the advice, though if something goes wrong I'll probably make another post here ^_^;;

Ok I just uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted and ran everything...

Guess what?

/FAIL

I don't know what to say... it seems like I won't be able to even finish my AMV in time for the contest at this rate. I've just spent the entire day checking all sorts of things to see what exactly was the problem.

It seems like no one here knows what the hell is going on with the computer either. It's really sad to be honest...

I asked my friend to come over and take a look at it one last time, but it looks like I will be formatting my computer tomorrow. There goes all my AMVs etc etc...

Anyway, thanks for the help. Looks like from tomorrow I'll be back to square 1, not just with the AMV, but everything...

Why format? Try just reinstalling Windows first. If it works, then you won't have lost all your files.

:>

Problem Solved.

Curse my technical incompetency. When my friends came over they fixed the problem in under 2 minutes. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the help, especially Kariudo for guiding me step by step.

I guess the mods can go ahead and lock this if they like.

Cheers.
