I keep getting this when I do the AMVapp tests. Only one seems to work and it goes really quick so i can't tell what it is.

Ideas?

The AMVapp tests don't work on Vista if that helps.

lol Well yes that does help, but is it only the tests or does AviSynth not work with vista?

I was looking at the tutorial on how to write scripts for AviSynth and couldn't get it to work.

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... synth.html

like the color bars wouldn't work with media player 11, though since all 3 of my PC's currently run vista I haven't tested this if I will have the same problem with XP.

Anything I can do as a Vista user?

Avisynth works in vista, just the tests dont work.
What happens when you try the colorbars?

Well when I try and load it in windows media player it just says it can't recognize it.

You just right click and go to open with right?

It seems to work in virtualdubmod but not in any player I have, and for some reason virtualdubmod keeps crashing when I try to bring in an .mkv file. Doesn't list an error, just comes back with a pop up saying that virtualdub has stopped working.

avi files and avs files seem to work find though I have actually tried to encode them just open them and change settings on them.

Well it can save videos in mkv format but seems to crash when I bring them in either normally or with avisynth. :(

VdubMod can open MKV files, but I think the MKV container format has been updated, while VdubMod hasn't. So basically, I don't suggest opening MKVs in VdubMod, even though it's an option. It may or may not work, so don't bother.

However, this topic has been covered many times before. Just spend a little time searching the forums and you'll find your answer. And if what you find still doesn't answer your questions, by all means post away ^_^!

Currently still looking for one, but in the mean time after a save a video in virtual dub and import it into premiere I don't have any audio. While i can play the video with audio through media player it doesn't show up in any video editor after i save it through virtual dub.

I was reading through the guide here for the AMVapp about how to use virtual dub and it shows stream list and while I see it there does it some how combine it with the video after you save it?
