ok, ive had this problem for a while. i know .mkv files can be opened in virtualdubmod with avisynth but when i use virtualdub to convert them into a different file type the resulting video has some problems. the video clip lags for the first 3 or 4 seconds when you start playing it and this carries over to when i put it into adobe primiere pro so anything i export from that has footage that gets jerky at some points.
it has nothing to do with my computer's hardware as i just got a brand new really powerful comp that can handle any type of software with ease so it must be something to do with the compression or format of the files.
this is what i do to create my files using virutal dub. i make the .avs file holding the video clip, open it in virtualdub and then convert it with fast recompress using Huffyuv v2.1.1 CCESP Patch v0.2.5 to compress it.
if anyone has a better method of doing it please post it and i'll try it out to see if i get better results.
