WINDOWS VISTA...

Postby kikyomaniac » Sat Jul 07, 2007 7:09 pm

I just purchased a new computer, It has Windows Vista... So far I hate it. I have two dvd ripping programs I purchased online: JesterDVDRipper and MagicDVDRipper. I have ripped the dvd's in wmv form and it looks horrible. So I downloaded them in AVI form. Now I cannot get my WMM to work properly. Everything is fine until i get ready to turn into a movie file.

Basically what I am asking is this: AVI looks great compared to wmv... Is there an easy to use editing program in which I can just use my avi's? I hate crappy looking amv's. I have the dvd's. I would like to make good looking videos. I downloaded that majix movie edit pro and the avi didn't take on that, then I downloaded UleadVideoStudio, still crap. So if anybody can offer a step by step thru this hell i call windows vista i would appreciate it.

the video edited just fine, however when I tried to save it as a movie, the movie shrank and there is a big green bar right under it taking up most of the video screen. I tried several different times and took other clips. Only the wmv's would turn out right when I saved it as a movie.

Also, if you paid for a DVD ripping program you were ripped off.

YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR RIPPING PROGRAMS!

And incidentally, amvapp will install on Vista, even though the tests don't run. This includes DVD Decryptor which will work just fine on Vista (or rather certainly worked fine for me on Vista Ultimate).

agreed 10,000% .. check http://www.doom9.org/software.htm Descrambling/Ripping tools area for DVD rippers; dvdfab works great.

if Magix Pro 12 has a sizing malfunction, go into Projects and correct the Picture Size for that project.
( you can also correct the output size, fps, audio mp3 bit rate, codec settings at the Export. )
just remember that Magix products are "time based" in Vista, not "frame based."

.. after looking at the Codec listings on that page, I noticed that CorePNG was not on it.
? Am I the only one using this "thinning-out Process" or is there a reason nobody-else uses it ?

Granted; its not the speediest Codec in the world but, it does clean-up the pictures really nice:
