AMVapp errors

Postby aniteh » Wed Jul 04, 2007 11:20 pm

I downloaded and installed the AMVapp package and I ran the AMVapp tests, and I kept getting these errors after each test
:Image

followed by this error "mplayer2.exe stopped working". It seems I have to have WMP 6.4 installed but I can't since my OS (Vista) doesn't support this older version. Help?

I really don't know which part of the forum I should have posted this, but since it involves AviSynth, I guess it fits in.

Well, the tests don't work for Vista... Does the program work?

Well I tried the colorbars.avs test as instructed in this guide. I tried dropping the avs file in WMP 11, wouldn't work. Tried opening the file by selecting "open with" WMP, and the type-not-supported message popped up.
Finally I tried it with Windows Media player 2.1, and I got the same errors in the first post.

Hmmm, it's a known problem that media player 6.4 (which the tests explicitly try to run) doesn't work in vista, but it's very odd that you can't open the scripts in any version of windows media player.

If no one else knows whats up, I'll try checking into this further.

yes, I can confirm this: I only get this error on media player classic on my vista, but windows media player standard just... crashes if I feed it one.

So, they TRY to play it, but then go "(not responding)"
