Ok, so I decided that I want to get some of my DVDs onto my PSP (specifically, foreign ones with no english dub, hence the need for the subs). I downloaded the AMVApp, and picked a random chapter from my 301/302 DVD in IFO mode with stream processing enabled. I've tried all three ways in IFO mode to process the subtitle stream, but trying to use the VSFilter plugin (which seems to be "the" way to do it, according to all the other sites I've checked) with VDubMod to superimpose the subs doesn't work (nor does adding them to the stream list).
I open the .avs in VDubMod, add the filter, and it opens up the dialog where I choose the subtitle file. When I choose the subtitle file that DVD Decrypter made, and click OK, it just goes back to the main filter window, with nothing added. I tried it with the VobSub filter and the TextSub filter, and the same thing happens with both.
I've also noticed that if I rip the .VOBs straight and play them in VLC, there's no subtitle option. So is DVD Decrypter actually even processing the sub streams or not?
I was thinking about just buying the PSP Media Manager (though I really don't want to, having already learned how to do it myself... except for transferring the subs, obviously), but if it doesn't handle subs, then I don't really have a reason to get it.
Anyway, has anyone managed to get a DVD to any other video format with the subs intact?
