You've been had. Twice. As I'm sure you're now aware, but just in case other people are paying attention in this thread, I want to stress:

YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PURCHASE A DVD RIPPING PROGRAM!

The two options I recommend, DVD Decryptor and MacTheRipper, are free (as in no-cost) downloads.

I should wack myself then.

So much fail in this thread.

Especially good was this gem:
I was sure that my copy was genuine since I bought it on ebay

Here's a tip - About 90% of the anime found on eBay are fansub (or other)bootlegs. This is also true of many non-anime movies and TV shows as well. Until ebay begins working more with law enforcement and non-USPS shippers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) this kind of thing will continue. - I mention USPS as an exception because if you recieve a bootleg from ebay and it's mailed through the U.S. post office it constitutes federal mail fraud, a fellony. If a properly mannaged sting was put in place, i'd bet you'd see several hundred people facing serious jail time and fines so high they'd make big-tobbaco lawsuits look like pocket change.

Thank you again everyone for applying!

Badmartialarts, thank you so much for the links! That is REALLY irritating that the sellers won’t tell you if it’s in stock or not. Dose that mean if I buy a DVD which is not in stock but they’ve not told me, will they get my money and will I not receive anything?

Kionon, my problems with AMV making seem to be mounting up, I thought originally before I had all the Magic DVD Ripping fiasco that I would have to buy a ripping program. I did hear of DVD Decryptor but I didn’t think it was a free product and (stupidly) I didn’t look it up nor did I research ripping programs on this site. I bought Magic DVD Ripping because it had a free trial, the quality looked good and it was easy to use. Now that I’ve seen DVD Decryptor in action, I’m just annoyed with myself for not researching ripping programs before I bought Magic DVD Ripper.

BasharOfTheAges, you’re right it was a gem in STUPIDITY, I’ve been so naive.
I suppose the good thing from this is I’ll (be hopefully) able to spot a bootleg DVD, never buy an Anime DVD from ebay and I’ve got a better ripping program now. I really hope that for other people ebay will pull its socks up.
