Probelms with Converting h264/x264 mp4's

Postby Kevmaster » Sat Jun 09, 2007 5:31 am

I got some Problems with a few h264/x264 mp4 Videos. I want to convert them to avi format, so I can convert them to the right format mp4 to watch them on my Ipod. I tried using Total Video Convertor and it works on most of those mp4's fine. They convert to avi without problems. But some Videos just wont convert. They stop at 8 bytes and then when I try to close TVC my whole computer freezes.

Some Examples for Videos that fail on me:

Postkoitales Weisses Rauschen
Stuck on the Battlefield
Spukhafte Fernwirkung
theXcutz
Lost Paradise

while Videos like:

Skittles
Let Mercy Come
Dirty Ichigo
K1LL t3h F@cK1nG En3mY!!!11!1!
Magic Carpet Ride?

convert without any Problems.

Then I had the idea to save those Videos on a DVD and then ripp the DVD and then convert them like I would convert my DVD footage to use in amv's, but I always get this fugly Main Concept Logo when I do this (or just a black video at all).

So..does anyone have any Suggestions?

Code: Select all
DirectShowSource("filename.mp4")

in an AviSynth script should do it just fine - just use that to convert to a HuffYUV/Lagarith/HuffYV12 AVI and then use that. You will want to demux the audio from it beforehand, though, and remux it to the new mp4 once you're finished.

You're using a shitty decoder. Download FFDShow and uninstall that MainConcept shit.
