set your video codec to lagarith or huffy.

then compress for viewing in vdub or zarxgui

strange, whwn i go to change the settings of it there is no lagarith or huffy codec. Could it be because i dont use the full version of vegas?

The HuffYUV codec should now show up on your list of codec options when you try to export from Vegas. If it does, you know it installed correctly.
