Ripping Video from Guilty Gear X2?

Postby OtherSideofSky » Thu May 10, 2007 9:18 pm

I'm trying to obtain the anime sequences from Guilty Gear X2 for the PS2. I followed the steps in the guide, but when I try to extract video from the split ISO files the program doesn't detect anything :? . Is there any way to rip these videos? I really want them for something I'm working on and I can't afford a capture card  .
Thanks in advance.

I looked at the disc contents and there are files labeled "movie" with a .pck extension. Could someone please tell me what this means? I can't find any .pss files present and the only thing the Nova extractor finds are text files. I really need help...

GGX2 is one of the easy games to rip the 2 anime scenes from. In fact, you don't even need to make an iso. I stand open for correction, but if IIRC, all you have to do is put the dvd into your DVD drive, examine the DVD for a fairly huge file called "MOVIE", then copy it onto your PC. You should be able to load the file directly into DGIndex or virtualdubmod to convert it.

The only problem is, the sound isn't included. It's located somewhere else on the dvd.

Thanks! I never thought of trying that because of the weird file extension. On a side note, it says on Wikipedia that ".pck" is the "Presbyterian Church of Korea". Any idea what the file extension actually stands for?

Oh, and the audio isn't much of a loss since the voices were terrible anyway.

pck could stand for anything. "Presbyterian Church of Korea" is not the only definition for what the .pck extension could mean.

Simple logic tells me that when it comes to computer files, a .pck extension will often stand for the word "pack". Hence, movie.pck = movie pack (which would make sense considering how it's a single file that holds both of GGX2's anime sequences).

*shrugs shoulders*
It's just a guess.
