Ripping DVD

Postby Necridos » Tue Apr 03, 2007 4:40 am

Before I get flamed to ash I just want to state. I did look around the forums for help, but nothing really caught me as helpfull. Just wondering what the easiest way to rip movies from a DVD is. I say movies because I want to extract the Naruto episodes from my box sets to start my AMV. Is there anyway to do it with Adobe Premier Pro?

There are quite a few guides available linked from the main page: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/

The big one is AbsoluteDestiny & ErMaC's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video mk2 or EADFAG. It does delve into technical details so it might be a bit overwhelming at first. A newer beta version can be found here: Version 3 BETA.

There are some programs you will need. Primarily, DVD Decrypter, DGMPGDec (DGIndex/DGDecode), VirtualDubMod, and AviSynth, plus some codecs. I'd recommend downloading the AMVapp version 3 beta instead of version 2.1 since the latter includes ffdshow which has caused issues with some computer setups (at least the way ffdshow is setup in that install).

You could start reading EADFAG v3 from here (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtechbeta/videogetb1.html) and skip some useful information (DVD ripping is described in step 2, click on the link).
