Strange problem with stream/compression

Postby Autraya » Sun Mar 11, 2007 9:06 pm

something is going wrong with my huffy exports from premiere pro. but it plays fine on the timeline. i haven't changed any of my settings and this problem never occured before. It seems to be intermitten throughout the vid. this is what it should look like;

and this is what it currently looks like;

these are my settings:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231 ... eenie1.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231 ... creen3.jpg

i have tried uninstalling/reinstalling huffy, taking off optimise stills, changing to dv_avi and recompress all to no avail. this happens to all of my projects that i export can anyone tell me what is going on and how to fix it? the clips themselves are encoded in huffy (from amvapp) as is the exported files. its stuffing up on plain footage as well as footage with effects added to it, ive also had someone else play it and they can see the lines.
the only thing i can think of that might be causing it (other than my pc having an allergic reaction to lockstocks beta lol) is that i was having trouble playing somebodys beta the other day ( premiere was closed during this time) and I unistalled huffy and restarted my pc and then reinstalled huffy and now i can watch that beta... but now my exports arent working.... help pls?

Well I don't use premiere pro, but everyone says that premiere pro sucks at exporting with codecs like huffyuv/lagarith. So try uncompressed. If that doesn't work, you could try that frameserver thing I've heard about.

Okkkk it doesn't have the problem when using no compression (thank YOU!)

.... but I would like to use my huffy's for MEPs so does any one know what's going wrong so that i can fix it?

That and my .264 encode is going to be about 90mb or more for a 4 minute song.... so I really need to fix this

I had this problem with 6.5 earlier today. I had never seen it before, but it went away as quickly as it showed up. You're saying that it keeps reexporting this way over and over again?

Thanks for that idea it's works fine in vdub... as does out putting lagarith from premiere (I'm just annoyed at how many time's I'll have to re-encode when I shouldn't have too) and I'd like to fix the problem not resort to work arounds.

*hugs Katie*

'cause many MEPs n contests only want huffyuv and Premiere does hump lagarith the way vegas does.
And we haven't solved the problem... just avoided it

you've wasted more time discussing it in this topic than it would have taken to re-encode a few more times... what does that tell you?

I says that, because it is a real problem. (other people say it too, you are one of the lucky few that don't experience the problem(s))
Premiere pro's export sucks and usually only works properly when exporting uncompressed as demonstrated in this thread.

this is one of the worst cases I've seen though, usually I only get garbage on the top of frames with a considerable ammount of motion from frame to frame or when I cut to a considerably different clip

Change to Recompress Always (instead of Maintain data rate)?

And Lockstock, thank you. I was beginning to think I was the only one who never had such problems with APP.
